Mark A. Cotney

Mark Allen Cotney, 53, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in Tuscaloosa, AL while visiting his brother.

Born on November 11, 1969, in Kansas City, KS, he was a son of Wako Cotney and Frances K. Cotney. Mark was a graduate of Montville High School in Montville, CT and a truck driver for over thirty years. He was a member of Park Road Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisher and during his life had participated in numerous sports activities. He was involved with soccer, basketball and football.

Mark is survived in addition to his father, Wako Cotney by a daughter, Camryn Cotney; a son, Cody James Cotney; a brother, Ronald C. (Wilda) Cotney and a granddaughter, Zoe Cotney. He was predeceased by his mother, Frances K. Cotney and a grandson, Eli Cotney.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Park Road Baptist Church with services to be conducted by his father, Pastor Wako Cotney. The family will receive friends following the service at the church followed by the internment of Mark's cremains in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
