Marshall Harris Todd, 69, passed away at his home in Newberry, SC on June 26, 2011. He was a caring father and proud grandfather. Marshall was born on November 25, 1941 and grew up in the Shandon area of Columbia, SC with his younger brother, Teddy. He attended Presbyterian College and then graduated from Baptist College in Charleston, SC, while serving in the US Navy. He worked for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for 30 years. Marshall was a faithful member of Purity Presbyterian Church and a long-time member of the Lexington County Choral Society. Apart from his devotion to singing, he enjoyed recording musical events throughout the state and serving up vegetarian stir-fry from his home.
He will be missed by his three children, Katherine (Minh-Vu) Nguyen, Jonathan (Erin) Todd, and Miriam (Clayton) Mauritzen, his brother, Teddy (Susan) Todd, his aunt, Ann Martin, his grandchildren Caleb Nguyen and Corinne Todd, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Harris and Lucille Todd.
You were taken before we had the chance to say goodbye; we will miss you.
A memorial services will be held at Purity Presbyterian Church, Chester, SC, on July 3, 2011 at 4 p.m. A visitation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lexington County Choral Society.
