Martha Ann Meadows

Martha Ann Young Meadows, 86, of Silverstreet, widow of Elijah Garnett Meadows, died Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Hospice of House of Laurens County.

Born on February 7, 1933 in Spencer, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hampton Theodore and Josephine Pettigrew Young. Mrs. Meadows was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she had been involved with the Circle and the Silver and Gold Group. She had been a former volunteer at Ruben Elementary.

She is survived by a son, Chuck (Rose) Meadows of Newberry; daughters, Debbie (Bobby) Lipscomb and Glynda Y. Meadows both of Silverstreet and Candice (Scott) Simpkins of Spartanburg; brothers, Charles L. Young of Newberry and Richard L. Young of Spencer, NC; grandchildren, Keri L. (Sean) Dalrymple, Ginger Ann (Jeremy) Loberger, Craig S. (Sophia) Simpkins, Lindsay J. (Reid) DeFord and Stacy S. (Will) Condrey; great-grandchildren, Carter, Quinn, Chandler Rae and Elias.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles Wilbanks. The family will be at her residence and will receive friends following the service. Burial will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton, NC. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1167 Trinity Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Shealy, Jamie Monts, Jeremy Loberger, Sean Dalrymple, Reid DeFord, Craig Simpkins and Will Condrey.
