Marvin Richard “Bojack” Bouknight, 77, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on May 10, 1941, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Larry Jonas and Minnie Viola Long Bouknight. He formerly worked for Duke Power and at Roberts Foundry. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Mr. Bouknight was an avid farmer, enjoyed the lake where he enjoyed fishing and was a big Braves fan.
He is survived by sons, Rick B. (Gail) of Laurens and Steven “Boo” (Wanda Gayle) Bouknight of Prosperity; sisters, Peggy B. (Marvin) Hawkins of Prosperity, Marny B. Sanders of Virginia Beach, VA, Kathy B. (Olin) Dorroh of Greenwood and Gayle B. (Mike) Seals of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Sarah B. (Jesse) Griffin, Stacie B. (Kevin) Willard, Christina E. Bouknight, Colin M. Bouknight and Baylee E. Bouknight; great-grandchildren, Kaden B. Griffin, Jackson C. Griffin, K. Davis Willard and Piper Bouknight. Mr. Bouknight was predeceased by his former wife, Reba B. Brooks and a brother-in-law, Sparky Sanders.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 13, 2018, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Sammons, Jay Connelly, Kenny Caldwell, Robert Slate Beck, Jesse Griffin, Kevin Willard and Chris Turner.
