Mary B. Cromer

Mary Christine Bobb Cromer, 79, of Newberry, widow of Jasper Derrick Cromer, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at her residence.

Born on September 4, 1929 in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Johnnie Arthur and Emma M. Johnson Bobb.

Surviving are her sons, Richard Allen Cromer of Newberry and Ronnie Hal Cromer of Prosperity; a daughter, Joanne Cromer of Newberry; brothers, Otis David Bobb of Chapin, Larry Vernon Bobb of Newberry and Robert Earl Bobb of Prosperity; sisters, Ola Belle Bobb Abbott, Blanche Bobb Cromer and Eva Mae Bobb Somers all of Newberry; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Mrs. Cromer was predeceased by a brother, John C. Bobb.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202 or to Hospice Care of Tri County Hospice, 13795 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry, SC 29108.
