Mary Helen Kibler Timmons, 98, died on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the Columbia Presbyterian Retirement Community in Lexington, South Carolina.

Mrs. Timmons was born in Newberry, a daughter of the late John Jacob Kibler and Annie Lee Wood Kibler. She graduated from Newberry High School and owned and operated the Friendly Beauty Salon until her retirement. She was an active lifelong member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church where she served in multiple ministries over the years. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and found great joy in her children and extended family. Her many pleasures included singing in a community choir and gardening.

Mrs. Timmons was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Dewitt Timmons, her sister Sadie Elizabeth Slice, and her sister Margaret Kibler Hughes. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice T. Grana and Dr. Gregory M. Grana of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann Cromer and Donald E. Cromer of Lexington, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Michael Andrew Grana, Dr. Lisa M. Grana (Roman C. Pibl), Mark Cromer, and Heather Miller (Bart Miller). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Katarina and Alexa Pibl, Ashton, Peyton, Mary Reagan and Bryton Miller.

Funeral and Burial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Reverend Dr. Mitchell Van Metre, pastor of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be given to the South Carolina Presbyterian Retirement Communities Foundation ( 700 DaVega Drive, Lexington, SC 29073) or Aveleigh Presbyterian Church (1211Calhoun Street, Newberry, South Carolina 29108).
