Mary Marion Folk Lominick, 97, of Pomaria, widow of Olin Hugh Lominick, Sr., died Monday, November 8, 2010, at her residence.

Born on August 7, 1913, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Christian M. and Lily May Caldwell Folk. Mrs. Lominick was a graduate of Newberry College and was a teacher and study hall supervisor in the Newberry County Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the WELCA, the Joy Fellowship, Adult B Sunday School Class, a former Sunday School, Weekday Church School and Bible School teacher.

Surviving are children, Olin Hugh "Hub" (Ann) Lominick, Jr., Jane L. Ringer, Bobby Folk (Jennylee) Lominick, Chris (Ellen) Lominick and Dianne Lominick; grandchildren, Scott Olin (Amber) Lominick, Audra Jane (Stuart) Smith, Connie Ann (Tracey) Shirey, Woodrow Hugh (Kelly) Ringer, Chad Christopher Lominick and Marylila Jill Lominick; step-grandson, Ryan (Michelle) Griffin; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Griffin; great-grandchildren, Blake and Carley Shirey, Jack, Scotlyn, Lawson and Weston Lominick, Katie and Will Smith; and step-great-grandchildren, Cole and Cameron Griffin. Mrs. Lominick was predeceased by a son-in-law, W. Wayne Ringer, sisters, Sarah Folk and Lillie Mae Folk and brothers, Hamilton H. Folk, R. Haskell Brown and James D. Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence, 5407 SC Highway 34, Pomaria. Memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, 2461 St. Philip’s Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be David Folk, Hayne Folk, Wayne Folk, Don Kunkle, Glenn Kunkle, Andy Lominick, William B. Lominick, Ernie Sease, Herb Gilliam, and Robert Dale Mills.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church Adult B Sunday School Class and the Joy Fellowship
