Mary M. Metts

Mary Marler Metts, 92, of Prosperity, widow of Lewis P. Metts, died Saturday, August 1, 2020 at National Health Care of Clinton.

Born on April 25, 1928, in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late William and Emma Craig Marler. She was retired from Joanna Cotton Mill and was a member of Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church. Mrs. Metts loved doing crafts especially quilting.

She is survived by a son, Ronnie E. (Helen) Marler of Laurens; sisters, Linda Scholfield of Hickory Tavern and Ruth Berger of Virginia and a brother, Charles Marler of Clinton.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Floyd Sides. Memorials may be made to Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church, 3074 Bachman Chapel Road, Prosperity, SC 29127. Due to COVID 19 social everyone is reminded of the social distancing requirements in effect and masks are encouraged. Those attending are invited to bring umbrellas for personal shade during the service.
