Mary Sease Riser

Mary Sease Ruff Riser, 82, of Newberry, died Friday, December 9, 2016, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 23, 1934, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late David Luther and Nell Lominick Ruff. She was a lifelong member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church and was an accomplished seamstress. Mrs. Riser was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Hollis Pickens Riser; daughters, Pamela (Ed) Branham and Donna (Vince) Branham both of Newberry; a sister, Lunelle (Harry) Harmon of Newberry; a sister-in-law, Patty Ruff; five grandchildren, Chris (Camryn) Branham, Kyle (Michelle) Branham, Andrew Branham, Amanda (Talbott) Tomsey and Lane Branham and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Henry Ruff.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2016, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Philip's Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 2461 St. Philip's Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Branham, Kyle Branham, Andrew Branham, Talbott Tomsey, Benji Harmon and Charles Ruff.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Golden Agers, Dr. C.W. Hendrix, Jessica Shealy, Rodney Wicker, Phil & Cynthia Frick and Bobby & Jenny Lee Lominick.
