Maxie "Mac" Bailey

Maxie “Mac” Wayne Bailey, 76, of Newberry, died Friday, November 29, 2019 at his residence.

Born on October 19, 1943 in Union, SC, he was a son of the late Doc and Frances Cudd Bailey. He was retired from Duke Power Company and was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Bailey was a member of the Amity Lodge #87, the Newberry York Rites and the Newberry Shrine Club. He was a member of the Newberry Exchange Club and was an avid Clemson fan.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Judy Vanderford Bailey; daughters, Melissa Doolittle (Travis), April Peel (Russell); grandchildren, Bailey , Grantt and Colby Doolittle, Reagan and Riley Peel; brother-in-law, Mike Vanderford (Cindy) and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Bailey Sumner.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 1, 2019 at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Travis Doolittle, 275 Life Oak Lane, Newberry.
