Maxine Snelgrove

Maxine Sease Snelgrove, 81, of Prosperity, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her residence.

Born on November 22, 1934 in Little Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Ralph R. and Pearl Fulmer Sease. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Lee Snelgrove, Sr.; sons, Robert L. “Bob” Snelgrove, Jr. (Wendy) of Newberry and Dean S. Snelgrove (Donna) of Prosperity; daughters, Barbara S. Kinard (Les) of Prosperity, and Peggy S. Hendrix (Hal) of Newberry; 11 grandchildren, Johnny Bunn III, Michelle B. Bedenbaugh, Kimberly Dominick (Henry), Meagan Bouknight (Jason), Kayla Crist (Corey), Jesse Snelgrove (Brenda), Scott Snelgrove (Anna), Dalton Snelgrove, Casey Snelgrove, Martin Ray Snelgrove, and Sierra Snelgrove (Austin); and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Billy Ray Snelgrove; a daughter, Sherry S. Zalewski; a brother, Virgil Ray Sease; a sister, Mildred S. Abrams; and a grandson-in-law, D.J. Bedenbaugh.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Active pall bearers will be Johnny Bunn III, Jesse Snelgrove, Scott Snelgrove, Dalton Snelgrove, Casey Snelgrove, Martin Ray Snelgrove, Henry Dominick, Jason Bouknight, and Corey Crist.
