Eric Bartlett

Michael Eric Bartlett, 54, of Decatur, GA, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his residence.

Born on December 25, 1964 in Macon, GA, he was the son of and Joy Hamby and Calvin Bartlett. He grew up in Newberry and graduated from Newberry High School and Lander College and was a Human Resource Manager. Eric loved his canine companions as his children, Rocco, Cooper and Minnie. He was an active member of the ASPCA, a Meals on Wheels volunteer and a mentor with the Big Brothers Program.

He is survived by his parents, Joy Hamby and Calvin Bartlett; a sister, Debbie Davis-Williams (Steve); niece, Brooke Davis-McKee (Jason); great-nephews, Aidan and Jax as well as members of his extended family and close longtime friends, Reid Newsome and Michelle McDowell. He was predeceased by his step-father, Bobby Hamby.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Chad Ashby.
