Mildred Fowler

Mildred Berley Fowler, 99, of Pomaria, widow of Eugene Glenn Fowler, died July 11, 2024 at her residence.

Born on November 30, 1924 in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late James Hartford and Lula Mae Wicker Berley. Mrs. Fowler was a life-long member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church where she was a member of the 55+ group and the U.M.W. She was a wonderful cook and never followed a recipe. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved to garden and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in her yard.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle (Duane) Harris of Pomaria; sons, Dennis (Vicki) Fowler of Lexington and Paul (Tina) Fowler of Pomaria; sisters, Troxel Sligh of Prosperity and Shirley Riley of West Columbia; a brother, Donald Berley of Prosperity; grandchildren, Janeene (Paul Morris) Harris, Bart (Mairovys Cecillia Viecco Ariza) Harris, Crystal (Mark) Philips, Renee Fowler, Eric (Carley) Fowler, and Corey Fowler; and a number of great-grandchildren,  great-great-grandchildren; and step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers, Everett Berley, Harvey Berley, and Billy Berley; and by a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Williams.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday, July 15, 2024 in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Bob Huggins. The family will receive friends following the service in the Reece Building at the church.

Memorials may be made to Feed The Children, 333 N. Meridian , Oklahoma City, OK 73107 or to the March of Dimes, 3 Jervey Avenue, Greenville, SC 29607.

The family would like to thank Anna Wicker for her love and care.

 Honorary pall bearers will be the grandchildren, step-grandchildren and the great-grandchildren.
