John Miller Jacobs, 81, of Newberry, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on October 19, 1939, in Newberry, he was a son of the late John E. and Winifred Riley Jacobs. Mr. Miller was a 1958 graduate of Newberry High School and had a diverse working career that began at Kaywood Corporation and led him to being the founder of Quality Woodworks and Quality Woodtruss. His most enjoyable jobs were driving for Lominick's Repair Service and Road Runner Services. He was a member of Glory Tabernacle and also attended Cross Point Church. Mr. Jacobs was a member of the Midlands Classic Car Club.

He is survived by his wife, Frankie Rice Jacobs; daughters, Johnette Marie (Steve) McCarthy of Greenwood, Fonda Ruth (Darren) Brown of Newberry, Carmen Tran (Jim) Davis of Simpsonville and Hayley Sue (Charlie) Bedenbaugh of Prosperity; a sister, Sue (Elwood) Jones of Prosperity; brothers, Eugene (Donna) Jacobs of Prosperity and Thomas (Pattie) Jacobs of Lexington; grandchildren, Ryan McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, Morgan Blair, Dustin Brown, Jacob Brown, Zane Davis, Owyn Davis, Carley Dominick, Hayden Clark, Robbie Clark, Alisha Clark and Tabatha Davis; great-grandson, Samuel Blair and Kyson Bayne.

Services will be held at the Newberry Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 3:00 pm Friday, December 18, 2020. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Glory Tabernacle, PO Box 778, Newberry, SC 29108, Cross Point Church, PO 1171, Newberry, SC 29108, Crossroads Christian Fellowship, 19 Player Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or Faith Assembly, 798 Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Dustin Brown, Jacob Brown, Hayden Clark, Robbie Clark, Darren Brown and Randy Malloy.

Due to COVID 19 all are reminded of social distancing requirements and masks are encouraged.
