Milton B. Longshore

Milton Bruce Longshore of Prosperity, SC departed this worldly earth on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the age of 89. A farmer by passion, he connected with the earth and enjoyed teaching anyone who would listen about raising crops and animals. Among other things, he was a beloved Papa and friend. He will be missed.

Mr. Longshore was born November 28, 1925 to Leah Hendrix and Marvin Madison Longshore. He grew up in Silverstreet and graduated from Silverstreet High School.

Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth Mills Longshore; his children, Martha McCarty (Dickey), Margaret Murray (Michael), and Bruce Longshore (Deb); his grandchildren, Dickey McCarty, Jr. (Jessica), Brent Cagle, Brandon Longshore (Sydney), and Kelli Longshore (Greg Dunham); his step-grandchildren, Scott Murray (Terri) and Allison Murray Kenney (Pat); his great-grandchildren, Hannah and Austin McCarty, and Reece and Riley Longshore; his step-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Chase, Saylor, and Blayke Murray; and his loyal friends and beloved neighbors, Phillip and Linda Bedenbaugh.

Although Mr. Longshore was predeceased by his parents, sister, and 10 brothers, he is survived by many special nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life will be Thursday, March 19th at 4:00pm in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel. The family will receive guests from 3:00 to 4:00pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery.
