MSgt Mark Steven Mallach, US Army (Retired), 53, of Prosperity, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on August 14, 1964, in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Solon and Barbara Lieber Mallach. He was a graduate of Mount St. Michael Academy and was retired from the US Army where he had served in the 82 nd Airborne Division. He was presently a civilian employee of Fort Jackson where he was an Anti-Terrorism Officer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0172.
Mr. Mallach is survived by his wife, Myrtie Enlow Mallach; sons, Ryan Mallach of West Columbia and Ashley (Danielle) Glymph of Prosperity; daughters, Bethany Mallach of West Columbia, Crystal (Justin) Dickert of Pomaria and Amber (Tyler) Kesler of Prosperity; a sister, Susan Mallach of Rochester, NY; brothers, John Cebollero, Joe Cebollero and grandchildren, Gabriel Glymph, Charlie Dickert, Lydia Mallach, Norah Mallach, Andrew Dickert, Jude Mallach and a granddaughter expected in July, Addilyn Kesler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mount St. Michael Academy, 4300 Murdock Avenue, Bronx, NY 10466.
Active pallbearers will be Nick Monroe, Pete Peters, Ray Domeneche, Richard Ellis, Darren Woodland and Patrick O'Connor.
Honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of Fort Jackson.
