Nancy Rebecca Alewine Longshore, 91, of Clinton, widow of Lester Longshore, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 18, 1920, in Silverstreet, she was a daughter of the late James Marion “Jim” and Nannie Blair Alewine. She was retired from Whitten Center and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Clinton.
Mrs. Longshore is survived by daughters, Bettie Zane (Elliott) Holsonback of Greenville and Dianne Summer of Clinton; sisters, Martha Watts and Louise Goggans both of Newberry and Julia Wessinger of Whitmire; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great-geat-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Debbie Sumeral and a great-granddaughter, Casey Conner.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, August 31, 2012, at Silverstreet Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Silverstreet Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Jennifer Rogers, 303 W. Alexander Street, Suite 1, Greenwood, SC 29646.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
