Nancy Costello

Nancy Griffin Costello, 74, of Pomaria, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at her home.

Born on September 12, 1948, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late John P. and Frances Woodward Griffin. Nancy was a former employee of the Newberry County Disabilities and Special Needs and also a former employee of the Lowman Home. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Nancy always loved and was very compassionate to animals.

She is survived by a sister, Paula G. Williams; a niece, Dana (James) Williams; a nephew, Tyrone Baker; great-nieces, Breanna (Trey) Williams, Taylor (Jerriell) Williams, Autumn Caldwell and Alyssa Williams; great-great-nieces, Jada and Kinsley Gallman and great-great-nephews, Justin Hutchins, Jr. and August Caldwell. She was predeceased by a niece, Gina W. Baker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108,  or online to help defray the funeral expenses.

Active pallbearers will be James Pitts, Tyrone Baker, Jerriell Boyd, Zach Hornsby and Cole Bouknight.
