Nelda Thornton

Nelda Miller Thornton, 85, formerly of Prosperity, widow of Edwin G. Thornton died February, 11, 2015.

Born on January 26, 1930, in Westerly, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Ethel Aaron Miller. She retired from South Carolina National Bank and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons; Mike Thornton of Plano, TX; Mark Thornton and wife Barbara of Greenville; a daughter, Beth Charles and husband Rick of Greer; two sisters, Wanda Miller of Belmont, N.C. and Joy Cole of Gastonia, N.C.; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday. February 14, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Kierstead. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 2503 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
