Nelva Shealy Lindler, 82, of Chapin, widow of L.A. Lindler, Jr., died Saturday, December 30, 2017.

Born on April 5, 1935, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Ethan J. and Elise Richardson Shealy. Mrs. Lindler was retired from General Electric and SCE&G. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She was a charter member of the Ballentine Chapter #280 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron in 1969-1971, 1995-1997, 2004-2005, 2009-2010, 2015-2016. Mrs. Lindler was member of the Gamecock Club and a former volunteer at Richland Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by a niece, Pam DeHart; nephews, Stanley Shealy and James Simpkins; many great and great-great nieces and nephews and a very dear friend, Billy Rauch. She was predeceased by siblings, Louise Lindler, Elizabeth Shealy, Thomas Shealy and Paul Shealy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ralph Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Pam Dehart and will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Ballentine Chapter # 280 of the Eastern Star, c/o Lynda Pittman, 5621 Wescott Road, Columbia, SC 29212

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Chapman, Eddie Koon, Butch Russell, Michael Taylor, Brett Taylor, Toby Smith, James Simpkins and Michael Shinn.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardees Bunch.
