Nick Zueger

William Nick Zueger, 46, of West Columbia, died Friday, May 15, 2020.

Born on September 8, 1973 in Newberry, he was the son of the late Kenneth George Zueger and Mary Ann Traylor Thomas. He was a 1991 graduate of Newberry High School. He earned two associate degrees, one in Criminal Justice and the other in Nuclear Engineering. He was a member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia. He never met a dog that he didn't love. Nick loved sports and was a huge Gamecock and Detroit Tigers fan. He never met a stranger and he always had a story to tell. He loved his children, dearly.

He is survived by a son, William Randall Zueger; daughters, Caroline Susanne Zueger and Ashley Nicole Zueger; a sister, Jessica Costello Griffen; his grandmother, Monica Zueger; step-father, Gene Thomas; uncle, Eddie Traylor; step-sisters, Michelle (Tommy) Butler, Suzanne (Brian) Bailey; and a step-brother, Bryan (Leigh) Thomas; and his former wife and mother of his children, Jill Zueger.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the Smyrna Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family requests that those in attendance to remain in their vehicles during the service. Following the service, the family would like to invite those attending to drive by and speak with them as you are leaving. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Self Regional Cancer Center, 1325 Spring Street, Greenwood, SC 29646.
