Nicklas Southerland

Nicklas Carl Southerland, 20, of Little Mountain, died Monday, November 7, 2011, at his residence.

Born on November 14, 1990, in Lexington, he was the son of James Daniel and Debra Gantt Southerland. He was a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

He is survived in addition to his parents, James and Debra Southerland by a sister, Erika Crayne Morrison of Newberry; maternal grandmother, Nell Gantt of Newberry; paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Juanita Southerland of Little Mountain; paternal great-grandfather, S.W. Amick of Chapin; aunts, Cindy (Shawn) Vodila and Sheryl Wicker both of Little Mountain and Patty Leopard of West Columbia; special nieces, Sonya and Sarah Morrison; cousins, Nicole and Holly Vodila,Shanna Wicker and Katie Jeffcoat. Nicklas was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Doyle Gantt.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Tholstrup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
