Odell Ruff, Sr.

Odell Ruff, Sr., 86, of Newberry widower of Lynn Livingston Ruff, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late S.L. “Bud” and Lois Bozard Ruff. He was a 1949 graduate of Silverstreet High School and was a United States. Air Force veteran. Mr. Ruff retired from the South Carolina Forestry Commission and was a farmer. He was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon.

He is survived by sons, Kenny Ruff of Tega Kay, and Dell (Melanie) Ruff of Richmond Hill, GA; a daughter, Pam (Greg) Culbertson of Newberry; a special niece, Becky Ruff of Newberry; grandchildren, Josh and Whitney, Callie, Anna, Ben , and Natashia Ruff; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Hubert Ruff.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers from Springfield Place and J.F. Hawkins for their love and care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Whitesides and the Rev. Fred Lazzaro. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenn Street Baptist Church Food Pantry, 300 Glenn Street, Newberry, SC 29108
