Ola Abbott

Ola Belle Abbott, 83, of Newberry, widow of Ernest Belton Abbott, died Monday, June 22, 2009.

Born on January 3, 1926, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Johnie Arthur and Emma Mae Johnson Bobb. She was a member of Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Faye Riley of Saluda, Judy Carolyn Brooks of Newberry and Trudy Jewel Koon of Chapin; brothers, Robert Earl Bobb of Prosperity, Larry Vernon Bobb of Newberry and Otis David Bobb of White Rock; sisters, Eva Mae Somers and Blanche Cromer both of Newberry; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Abbott was predeceased by daughters, Frances Evelyn Abbott and Linda Raye Abbott, a sister, Mary Cromer and a brother John Clifford Bobb.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church by Rev. Floyd Sides, Rev. James Shealy, and Rev. Brett DeYoung. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
