Olin Hendrix

Olin Hendrix, 76, of Newberry, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Newberry on August 26, 1937, he was the son of Bessie Proctor Hendrix and the late Bloomer C. Hendrix. He was a former member of the S.C. National Guard, retired from Monsanto and was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hendrix is survived in addition to his mother of Newberry by a son, Danny (Susan) Hendrix of Newberry; a daughter, Debbie (John) Carlton of Newberry; a sister, Fronnie Banks of Newberry; grandsons, Casey, Brandon and Will Hendrix, Ashley Richardson and John Carlton and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Lowry.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, November 29, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Fred Buchanan. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Epting UMC 1401 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
