Ora Lee Long

Ora Lee Owen Long, 91, of Indian Land, SC, formerly of Newberry, SC, widow of Jonas Irby Long, Jr. died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at her residence.

Born on August 5, 1922, in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Ogha and Addie Owens Owen. She was retired from Whitten Center in Clinton, SC and was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church in Pineville, NC.

Mrs. Long is survived by sons, Jerry (Kathy) Long of Newberry, SC and Jim (Sharon) Long of Pineville, NC; a daughter, Brenda Long Johnson of Indian Land, SC; a sister, Lois Phillips of Greenville, SC; a sister-in-law, Norma L. Ross of Southern Pines, NC; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Harrison United Methodist Church, Pineville, NC. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 2:45 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, Newberry, SC followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm at Newberry Memorial Gardens, Newberry, SC. Memorials may be made to Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Old Lancaster Highway, Pineville, NC 28134.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
