Pamela Wise

Pamela Hancock Wise of Saluda, SC passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Pamela was born on March 21, 1957 to Chalmers and Mary Ann Hancock in Newberry County, SC. She attended Hollywood School graduating from King Academy. She was a dedicated bank teller of Newberry Federal and First Community Bank for almost 40 years. She was a member Corinth Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed working with flowers and baking. On August 14, 1982, she married Dean Wise, and they enjoyed many adventures and trips together.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dean Wise, her father, Chalmers Hancock (Faye Hancock), and her brother, Dwight Hancock (Marie); brother-in-law, Donald (Marilyn) Wise and sister-in-law, Linda (Ranse) Miller. She is loved by her nieces, nephews, and great nieces: Sara van Driel (Marinus and Evy), Andy Wise, Marina Fulmer (Patrick and Everlynn).

Pamela was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Hancock, and nephew Cody Hancock.

Pamela had a heart of gold with a generous spirit. She was a true and faithful friend to many. She enjoyed entertaining guests at her home and was an excellent cook. She was a dog lover and never met one she didn't like. We will greatly miss her, but are so thankful for the lasting impact she made on our lives. We are assured she was welcomed home by her loving Lord and Savior.

Visitation will be held at McSwain Evans Funeral Home on May 30, 2023 from 5:00 -7:00 pm. Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Terry Hundley and Pastor Kevin Ogilvie at Macedonia Lutheran Church Cemetery on May 31, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to the charity of one's choice.

Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at J.F. Hawkins and MUSC in Charleston. Thanks also to Lake Murray Rescue Squad for all their assistance with transportation.
