Patsy Ruth Frick

Patsy Ruth Frick, 83, of Newberry, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland.

Born on March 26, 1940, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Willie Mack and Margaret DeHart Frick. She was a 1958 graduate of Newberry High School, a 1962 magna cum laude graduate of Newberry College with a Bachelor of Arts and obtained her Master of Arts in 1966 from the University of Georgia. In 1972 she obtained her Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Georgia. She taught Spanish at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.

Pat was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard.

Ms. Frick is survived by a sister, Helen Martin of Newberry as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Frick Lee and a brother-in-law, Jerry Martin.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. David Seymour. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
