Patsy Gregory

Patsy Wicker Gregory, 83, of Newberry, widow of Jack Rogers Gregory, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 28, 1932, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Cecil Wicker and Bessie Watson Buzhardt. Mrs. Gregory was a cosmetologist for 65 years and during her career assisted many of her customers who could not drive with transportation to the beauty shop. She also traveled to the Saluda Nursing Center for a number of years to fix residents hair. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Her greatest passion in life was her love and devotion for her family.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy E. (Connie) Morris of Newberry; a daughter, Pamela Morris (Billy) Branton of Newberry; step-sons, Jack Rogers (Ann) Gregory, Jr. of Pawleys Island and William Gregory of Columbia; a sister, Cecilia Ann (Russell) Franklin of Newberry; grandchildren, Chad Morris, Brandon Morris, Justin Branton and Jessica Livingston and seven great grandchildren; special niece, Missy Franklin. She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Cecil Wicker, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Jack R. Gregory, Jr., Chad Morris, Brandon Morris, Justin Branton, Chris Livingston and Russell Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kade Morris, Luke Morris, Landen York, Carolyn Bivens, Lonny Fowler and Bobby Shealy.
