Patsy Morris

Patricia “Patsy” Ann Summer Morris, 84, of Prosperity, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on March 17, 1939, in Greenville, MS, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Rilla Summer Caldwell.  Mrs. Morris was retired from Old School Manufacturing and was member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin E. Morris; a granddaughter, Erica (Jonathan) Slatten of Little Mountain; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Morris of Prosperity; sisters, Marie Anderson of Columbia and Dolly Welch of Savannah, GA and great-grandchildren, Kinleigh Slatten, Reid Slatten and Chandler Slatten.  Mrs. Morris was predeceased by a son, Rocky Allen Morris and her twin brother, Pat Summer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 24, 2023, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. 

Memorials may be made to Queen Bees Softball Team of which her great-granddaughter is a member by sending gifts  c/o Nathan Wicker, 178 Parr Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075.

Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Slatten, David Allen Cannon, Wayne Nichols, Clint Shealy, Art Singley and Josh Cannon.

Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Morris.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home and the caretakers of Laurens County Hospice for all of their care and assistance with Patsy.
