Paul Nichols Bedenbaugh, 81, of Prosperity, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 15, 1936 in Prosperity, he was the son of the late Horace and Colene Smith Bedenbaugh. Mr. Bedenbaugh earned a B.S. Degree from Newberry College and retired as plant manager with Fab Industries. He was an active member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Lutheran Men. He was a very compassionate person, and loved his family dearly. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their achievements.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janis Rauch Bedenbaugh; sons, Tim (Teri) Bedenbaugh of Prosperity and Mike (Karen) Bedenbaugh of Chapin; a daughter, Paula (Lee) Hutchison of Clyde, NC; a sister, Annie Frick of Chapin; 17 grandchildren, Will Hutchison, Ian Hutchison, Niki Bedenbaugh, Ben Bedenbaugh, Joshua (Megan) Bedenbaugh, Jamey (Abbey) Bedenbaugh, Betsy (Landon) Hobby, Christine (Derek) Frick, Daniel (Cara) Bedenbaugh, David Bedenbaugh, Maggie (Coleman) Caulder, Andrew Bedenbaugh, Joe Bedenbaugh, Jessie Bedenbaugh, Hannah Bedenbaugh, Katie Bedenbaugh, and Simon Bedenbaugh; 15 great-grandchildren, Kat Bedenbaugh, Chloe Bedenbaugh,Addison Mees, Harper Bedenbaugh, Lakelyn Bedenbaugh, James Ahren Bedenbaugh, Charlie Bedenbaugh, JoJo Bedenbaugh, Zeta Grace Hobby, Lane Hobby, Ashton Hobby, Annslee Hobby, Raelyn Frick, Brantlee Frick, and Eliza Caulder He was predeceased by sisters, Mary Summer, Dorothy Harris, and Betty Frick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church by the Rev. Bobby Morris. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.The family will recieve friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church 2336 Mt. Pilgrim Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pall bearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pall bearers will be his granddaughters.
