Pauline Crumpton Koon, 78, of Newberry, widow of Rev. Vernon L. Koon, Sr., died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 12, 1935, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruby Wicker Crumpton. She was retired after 42 years from Greenwood Mills – Blalock Plant and was a founding member of Old Time Holiness Mission. She was a Godly woman that loved and enjoyed taking care of everyone.
She is survived by a son, Pastor Vernon L. (Maxine) Koon, Jr. of Newberry; a brother, David Crumpton of Newberry; grandchildren and their families, Tammy (Wayne) Gibson – Kayla, Hunter, Kody, Holte; Tracy Koon Hawkins – Blake, English (Marvin) Sweat, Austin; Trudy (Mark) Wilkes – Hannah, Luke, Adam; Tiffany (Harrison) Adams, Jr. - Samantha, Izabeth; great-great-grandchilden, Dixie and Mary Ann. Mrs. Koon was predeceased by siblings, Merlee Bedenbaugh, Mary Ellen May, William Crumpton and John Darin Crumpton.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the Old Tim Holiness Mission, 2004 Colony Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Gibson, Harrison Adams, Blake Hawkins, Hunter Gibson, Austin Hawkins and Holte Gibson.
