Peggy B. Geiger

Peggy Bowers Geiger, 74, of Newberry, died Sunday, October 27, 2014, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 12, 1940, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Thurmon and Edna Rollins Bowers. She was retired from Allied Chemical and was a member of College Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Geiger is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gunter; a son, Robert E. Geiger of Newberry; daughters, Valerie G. Herrington of Irmo and Marti G.(Joel) Pitts of Prosperity; a sister, Barbara Ahl of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren, Tyler Geiger, Cody (Holly) Geiger, Jenna Geiger, Brittany H. (Casey) Proctor, Ayles Herrington, Lane Herrington, Lee Herrington, and Drew Groce;  four great-grandchildren, Kinsley Geiger, Braden Geiger, Allaynah Moore, and Ayden Geiger; and a niece, Dawn Ahl. She was predeceased by a daughter, Vicki Geiger.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 2, 2014, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be applied toward the funeral expenses at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
