Rachel Wilson

Rachel Gail Wilson, 59, of Newberry, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 27, 1957, in Newberry she was a daughter of the late Hugh Clarence and Macey Virginia Edwards Sharpe. She was a former employee of White Oak Manor and a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Harden Wilson; son, Matthew James Wilson of Newberry; daughters, Crystal Gail Hernandez and Blondell Virginia Camel both of Newberry; a brother, Billy Sharpe of Turbeville; sisters, Nina Caughman of Batesburg, Nancy Cook of Chappells and Mary Rowe of Ridge Spring; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery in Saluda the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Marco Hernandez, Emmanuel Camel, Angel Cruz, Cristian Cruz, Enrique Cruz, and Wayne Sharpe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jefferey Prichet, Stephen Pritchet and Larry Livingston.
