Randolph Lee Wilson, 81, of Newberry, died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at his residence.
Born on November 7, 1936, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Leland Smith and Helen Snelgrove Wilson. He was a retired civil employee of Fort Jackson having worked in the commissary. Mr. Wilson was a member of Aveleigh Fellowship of Presbyterians where he was a choir member and member of the Presbytery Men's Bible Study. He was a member of the Newberry Historical Society and a former member of the Newberry Civitans.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Martin Wilson; a son, Leland Martin (Stephanie Ann) Wilson of Newberry; grandchildren, Courtney Leigh Wilson, Justice Robert Harris and Logan Martin Wilson. Mr. Wilson was predeceased by a brother, Leland A. Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Aveleigh Fellowship of Presbyterians by the Rev. Dr. Mitch Van Metre. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Aveleigh Fellowship of Presbyterians, 1211 Calhoun Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Chappell, David Wilson, Pete Ragsdale, Kenneth Waites, Chuck Counts and Junior Harrington.
