Rebecca Dominick Alewine, 93, of Pomaria, widow of Carroll Brooks Alewine, Sr., died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at White Oak Manor.
Born on November 22, 1920, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Henry Webster and Mamie Lucille Shealy Dominick. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Alewine is survived by sons, Carroll B. (Joanna) Alewine, Jr. and Jerry W. (Janet) Alewine both of Pomaria; grandchildren, Tina Alewine, Tim Alewine, Brantley Alewine and Jessica Brooks; step-grandchildren, Richard Colello, Jr. and Mary Ann Brown; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Tyler and Cody Alewine and Nolan Brooks; step-great-grandchild, Owen Shimel; former daughter-in-law, Dorothy Cheavis. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Frances Nichols, Mildred Martin and William Dominick.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brett Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Alewine, 483 Alewine Lane, and will receive friends at the church on Saturday one hour before the service.
