Richie Graham

George Richie Graham, 70, of Prosperity, died Monday, November 4, 2024, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home. 

Born in Newberry County on March 11, 1954, he was the son of the late George O. and Doris Richardson Graham. 

Richie had so much love and appreciation for others. His “thank yous” were plentiful. He enjoyed his friendship with “Cole” at the nursing home.  

When he was able to attend church which was St. Paul Lutheran Church, he rarely missed a Sunday. Pastor Dawn's visits and phone calls meant great deal to him. A big smile came over his face when he talked about his granddaughter, Brianna, who he nicknamed Marie. 

His cousin, Joyce, took him to his first race when he was twelve. He continued his love for the sport of racing and when he became a father took his son, Joshua, to his race. He was hooked on racing and began racing cars and during the racing season that was where he could be found. 

Richie is survived by his son, Joshua (Clara) Graham and granddaughter, Breanna. He was also close to his first cousins. 

He was predeceased by his mother, Doris R. Graham and father, George O. Graham and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Richardson and Mrs. and Mrs. Clarence Graham. 

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dawn Rister. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the church on Thursday.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Richardson, Kenny Richardson, Carolyn Richardson, Merrill Richardson, Larry Swygert and Jimmy Scott.
