Rita F. Richardson

Rita Fawkes Richardson, 78, of Pomaria, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at her residence.

Born on March 29, 1935, in Mexborough, England, she was a daughter of the late John William and Gladys Schofield Fawks. She was employed with Ellett Brothers for seventeen years and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mrs. Richardson was a faithful wife and devoted mother and loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughters during his 20 years of service with the U.S. Air Force. Mrs. Richardson enjoyed square dancing with her husband and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Merrill Richardson; daughters, Sherree R. Richardson of Pomaria and Donna R. Kirkegard of Columbia; grandchildren, Jenny Fellers, Ashley Morris, Lori Richardson, Benji richardson and Mary Moore and four great-grandchildren, Elyse Fellers, Sophie Sweatman, Banks Fellers and Allie Kirk Moore. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, John E. Richardson and a sister, Jacqueline F. Justice.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 10, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brent Nichols. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
