Robert Coleman Cheatham, 66, of Moncks Corner, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Hospice of Charleston.
Born on January 14, 1945, in Whitmire, he was a son of Alice Vinson Stanley and the late William Davis Cheatham. He was an Army veteran who served in Korea. Mr. Cheatham was retired from Showa Denko Carbon of Ridgeville and was previously employed with Celanese/Fiber Industries in Greenville.
He is survived in addition to his mother of Clinton by his wife, Phyllis Tyler Cheatham; a son, Christopher Corey (Michelle Ricard) Cheatham of Batesburg-Leesville; a daughter, Cara Elizabeth (William Patrick) Hogge of Laurens; a sister, Mary Alice Arrowood of Whitmire; brothers, William Clifford Cheatham of Pauline and Michael David Cheatham of Whitmire; grandchildren, Jordan Patrick Hogge, Jade Ashton Hogge, Hannah Christelle Cheatham, Rebekah Michelle Cheatham, Jase Brady Hogge and Jonah Braswell Hogge; his mother-in-law, Ruth Miller Tyler and a beloved brother-in-law, Robert L. Tyler, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John G. Hoppe III. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC, the American Leukemia Society or TN Valley Health Authority/VA Oncology. The family request that all attending dress casual.
