Robert G. Joyce

Mr. Robert “Bob” G. Joyce, 69, of Prosperity, widower of Ardene Baumhauer Joyce, entered into rest on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at his residence.

Bob was born on December 10, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Joseph Joyce Jr. and Mary L. Joyce of St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1961 and attended Harris Teachers College as well as Southeast Missouri State. Bob spent five years with the St. Louis Police Department and ten years with St. Louis County Police Department. He held various positions including eight years on the Pistol Team and six years as the Departments Helicopter Pilot as he held a commercial pilots license as well as an instructors pilot license. Bob worked for 3M Electrical Products Division for eighteen years prior to his retirement. Bob's passion was hunting, and target shooting, reloading ammunition and competitive shooting.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Mary Joyce of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Julie A. Boland and her husband H. Scott Boland, and a grandson, Brandon Boland all of Prosperity; brother-in-law, Drew Baumhauer and his wife, Jakie Baumhauer of Cedar Rapids, IA and was uncle to Jill Wilkinson, Scott Kempf, Kris Kempf, Andrew Baumhauer III and Ashley Grabe and a cousin to Gary Schafer and his wife, Mary, Greg Schafer and his wife Karen.
