Robert L. Tyler, Jr., 68, of Newberry, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at his residence.
Born on July 17, 1949, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Robert Tyler, Sr. and Annie Ruth Miller Tyler. He was a US Army veteran and the owner of Tyler and Associates. Mr. Tyler was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was involved with the Church Disaster Relief Team, a choir member, a Deacon for many years and enjoyed helping in the church kitchen cooking and grilling. He also enjoyed working in his greenhouse raising vegetables.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Fulmer Tyler; sons, Michael (Mindy) Tyler, Mitchell (Erica) Tyler and Sidney Tyler; a sister, Phyllis T. Cheatham; his mother-in-law, Lidie M. Fulmer, who loved him dearly; his brother-in-law, James Eddie (Judy) Fulmer who has been by his side throughout his sickness and has been most supportive; four grandchildren, Camryn, Conner, Taley and Charlotte; a number of nieces and nephews including special nieces, Tamela, Trinity, Talie and Eden who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Mike Townsend. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church for Disaster Relief Fund or the Outdoor Kitchen Fund, 2503 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Deacons of Bethel Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Oscar Lovelace, Dr. Steven A. Madden, Katrina Minick, April Moore, Melanie Jenkins, the staff of Cresent Hospice, Beranda Trammell, Lexie Ellis, Ebony Ellis, Nevah Ellis, Leitha and Robbie Hendrix.
