Roberta Longshore

Roberta Lindler Longshore, 89, of Silverstreet, widow of Marvin Everette Longshore, died Friday, October 16, 2009 at Providence Hospital.

Born on April 8, 1920 in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late Preston Banks and Lola Irene Monts Lindler. She was retired from the Newberry County Schools and was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church.Surviving are her sons, Lin (Colletta) Longshore of Irmo and Pat (Dorothy) Longshore of Prosperity; daughters, Barbara Longshore of White Rock and Marsha Huggins of Silverstreet; a sister, Callie Mae Wessinger of Chapin; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Longshore was predeceased by a sister, Stella Linder and brothers, Fred Lindler and Ollie Rae Lindler

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Harry Crout and Rev. Rodney Gunter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Silverstreet Lutheran Church, PO Box 48, Silverstreet, SC 29145.
