Robin Chandler

Robin Chandler, 63, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014.

Born on January 31, 1951 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Claude and Ressie McAlister Chandler. He was a Navy Submariner of the Cold War Era and an attorney for the South Carolina Department of Social Services. Mr. Chandler was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a Mason, and a member of the S.C. Bar Association and the Gamecock Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Frances Stull Chandler; a daughter, Stephanie Mae Chandler Wimberly and husband, Rex Allen Wimberly; son, Jonathan McAlister Beau Chandler I and his fiancée, Ashley Marie Muni; a sister, Jane Olivia Clary; grandchildren, Rex Allen Wimberly II and Katelynn Mae Wimberly.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Wiles Chapel on the campus of Newberry College. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:45 pm Sunday at Wiles Chapel. Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, September 29, 2014, at Fork Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelzer, SC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Robin Chandler Memorial Fund, Newberry College Office of Advancement, 2100 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
