Rosa Lee Long, 91, formerly of Kinards and Chapin, widow of Claude Cecil Long, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at White Oak Manor.
Born on October 31, 1924 in Ballentine, She was a daughter of the late Luther P. and Ida Meetze. She retired from Summers Manufacturing and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
She is survived by sons, Lee (Karen) Long of Leesville, David (Janice) Long of Kinards, and Jimmy (Diane) Long of Clinton; daughters, Betty (Leon) Adams of Thomson, GA and Stella (Danny Bosky) Adams of Gaston; a sister, Agnes Long of Chapin; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by brothers, Bud,Tom, Jack, Robert, Earl, Baker, Lewis, and Louie Meetze; Sisters, Esther Carter and Elizabeth Long; a son, Cecil Andrew Long; and a great-great-grandson, Keldon Landers Long.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Tholstrup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Cemetery fund, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036 or to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 13795 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons,Butch Adams, Jamie Long, Michael Long, Rodney Long, Bryan Wilson, Claude Wilson, Troy Crump, Jeff Long, and Earon Sturges.
