Ross Slaton

Lin Rosson “Ross” Slaton, 45, of Newberry, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at his residence.

Born on March 14, 1965, in Charleston, he was a son of Lin and Mabel Hiller Slaton. Mr. Slaton was the retired owner of Ross’ Repair and a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents, Lin and Mabel Slaton of Newberry is his wife, Bobbie Jo Bradshaw Slaton; sons, Edward R. Slaton of Prosperity and Dalton W. Slaton of Newberry; a daughter, Shanna J. Slaton of Newberry; a granddaughter, Izabella Slaton and his faithful companion, Rat.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Mary Havens and Rev. Randall Derrick. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri County, 13795 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry, SC 29108, the American Cancer Society, c/o Helen Beebe, 181 Tailers Trail, Leesville, SC 29070 or to the charity of one’s choice.
