Ruby C. Wicker

Ruby C. Wicker, 100 years old, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 her home.

Born on July 27, 1915 in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Middleton and Anna McCollum Caldwell. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of West Columbia of which she enjoyed going and participating in the Senior Saints Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Wicker is survived by daughters, Helen W. (Gary) Monie of Pomaria, Irene W. (Ed) Welch of Pineville, NC and Grace W. (Bill) Holliman of West Columbia; grandchildren, Meg M. (Vernon) Womack of Hendersonville, TN, Joy M. Federico of Lynchburg, VA, Lavan (Darlene) Monie of Pomaria, Matthew Monie of Bossier, LA, Mark (Melissa) Welch of San Antonio, TX, Stephen (Monika) Welch of Ruther Glen, VA; Cathy Ruth Welch of Pineville, NC, Robin H. Spires and Brian Holliman of West Columbia and Mike Holliman of West Columbia and sixteen great-grandchildren, Bethany and Zachary Federico, Ryan and Journee Monie, Matthew Monie, Luke and Emma Welch, Silas, Naomi, Seth, Titus, Asher Welch, Madison and Preston Spires, Michael and Donna Holliman; siblings, Antoinette C. Wicker, Pearl C. Eddings, Violet Coker, Alton Caldwell and Betty Rhodus. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, G. Ralph Wicker and siblings, John R. Caldwell, Cecil M. Caldwell, Ellen C. Mills, Mable C. Peake and Emily C. Bogan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2015, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bill Egerdahl. Burial will follow in the Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 416 Denham Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169.
