She was born in Newberry on March 7, 1922. Mrs. Slice was a daughter of the late John Jacob Kibler and Annie Lee Wood Kibler. She attended Newberry College and worked most of her life as a bookkeeper with Kendall Company, Mollohon Plant and Carter and Holmes Greenhouses.

She was passionate about family, friends and her faith. She was passionate about gardening with her husband, George. She was passionate about her life, love, and sharing whatever bounty was hers to give; from fresh to canned vegetables, to baking tons of her signature pound cakes. Sadie was a lifelong member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church where she lived her life in service, holding many positions in whatever capacity she could lend a helping hand. She will always be remembered by family. She left us as she lived; gently and with purpose, hands folded in prayer.

Slice, Lianne H. March and Jessica H. Steen; three great-grandchildren, Allen March IV, Alexa March and Liam Steen; and a sister, Mary Helen Timmons of Blowing Rock, NC; nieces and nephews.
