Sandra Rae Roton

Sandra Rae Roton, 69, of Newberry, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 2, 1947, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Sheriff Raymond H. Roton and Cornelia Price Roton. She was a former employee of Senn Trucking Company and retired from the S.C. Employment Security Commission. She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church where she had served as church secretary. She loved her church and was active with the People to People Ministries. Sandra was a mother to many and was loved by all.

She is survived by sisters, Kathy R. (Ralph) Summer and Loretta (Jess) Oropeza both of Newberry; sister-in-law, Gayle S. Roton; beloved friend, Angie Perry; her hero, Butch Price; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Joey) Long, Donna Mason, Scott (Gena) Roton and Jeramy Oropeza; great nieces and nephews, Ashton Mason, Gabriele Mason, Jerran Long and Jacksen Long. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald H. Roton.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, February 20, 2017, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles Clinton. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Pentecostal Church, 965 Lindsay Circle, Newberry, SC 29108.
