Sarah Roberta Amick Shealy, 93, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at her residence.
Born on November 4, 1926 in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Annie Long Amick. She worked for many years at Newberry Mills and Greenwood Mill. She finished her working career at Quality Stitching after the mills closed. In retirement she enjoyed working her garden and visits from her family.
Mrs. Shealy is survived by her children, Jimmy Shealy, Peggy Floyd, Kathy Meade, Wanda (Earl) Smith and Janet (Jerry) Alewine; a sister, Eva Pearl Lindler; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Shealy, who died 45 years to the day of Mrs. Shealy's death. She was also predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Heyward Fulmer, a son-in-law, David Floyd, sisters, Lila Mae Derrick and Ruth Bush; grandchildren, Sammy Earl Smith and Sherri Lynn Floyd and a great-grandchild, Kendall Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 31, 2020 at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Marion Clark and Rev. Randall Derrick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Michael Bernardo and MSA Home Health and Hospice for their loving care in her last days on earth.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Fulmer, Scott Meade, Michael Meade, Brantley Alewine, Chris Brooks, Michael Turner and John Crim.
