Sarah Helen Cannon Amick, 88, of Prosperity, died Friday, November 19, 2010, at Springfield Place.

Born on September 17, 1922, in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late David and Emma Boland Cannon. She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA, the Petra Circle and the Goldies.

Surviving are her six children, Jean Munn (Jimmy) of Columbia, Donald Amick (Dianne) of Prosperity, Sandra Daghestani (Hani) of Columbia, Lynn Burns (Dave, deceased) of Central, Richard Amick (Cindy) of Prosperity and Karen West (Jim) of Clayton, NC; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Amick was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Floyd Amick, two brothers and eight sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Derrick officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

The family would like to thank the staff of Springfield Place, Harmony Care Hospice, and niece, Doris Webb for the love and care they gave her.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Amick, Robbie Amick, Todd Munn, Rand Chandler, Tony Rawls, Lee Driggers, Melvin Dominick and Fred Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Goldies, Harmony Care Hospice, and Dr. Oscar Lovelace.
